"The images I've presented for this show are infused with high drama in a quality that is ever so slightly surreal. It's possibly an ever present notion - it's probably quite distant. Nevertheless, they seem to exist. Maybe in some lost movie in the recesses of all our minds - stolen frames from a neverending cinematic sweep."

FASHION - BUT NOT - FASHION
Photo Impact continues it's tradition in group photographic exhibitions that focus on
theme in black + white photography.
This new show, "Fashion - but not - Fashion," opening Friday, March 21, 1997, focuses on the stylized and artistic approach of five different photographers that transcend the realm of "fashion." Their methods and vision use models, stylists, hair and make-up artists, wardrobe, and unique sets and locations. However, their images tell a story. They capture a mood and feeling that goes far beyond what you are used to seeing on the pages of most magazines. Artistic. Moody. Liberating. All of these emotions - and more - are evoked while viewing the images of the following photographers:
Mando Gonzales
Steven Lippman
Nelson Machin
Ricardo Martin
Jim Wright
