L.A. NUDE 5, SUMMER 1996
This is it! The fifth L.A. Nude show featuring Los Angeles based photographers who focus on the bare form. Over the past 8 years, The Gallery at Photo Impact has shown over 250 black & white images from over 100 artists. This show represented a wide cross-section of art: the human body as abstract, study of light and shadow, homo-erotica, camp and humor, S&M, exhibitionism, and celebration of freedom and artistic expression. It is hard to state exactly why - whether it is due to our culture's fascination with nudity or just photographic artistry, but this show was hugely attended! The opening reception attracted each artist's own following, the pictured models, art students, collectors, celebrities, photo buyers and yes, even nudists. Following is a partial listing of the photographers whose images were featured in L.A. Nude V: Guido Argentini, Steven Arnold, Scott Ashton, Horace Bristol, E.J. Camp, Anthony Friedkin, Greg Gorman, Marcel Indik, Sam Jones, Tony Kaye, Kevin Lynch, Ricardo Martin, Melodie McDaniel, Gene Prizer, Matthew Rolston, Norman Roy, Jack Shear, Peggy Sirota, Randee St. Nicholas, Scott Streble, Daniel Hayes Uppendahl, Don Weinstein and more... The show ran through September 30, 1996.
