ABOUT LA NUDE 8, 2002
The LA Nude Series started at Photo Impact eighteen years ago. It was such a huge success, that Photo Impact continued the theme every other summer. It started as a black + white custom printed show, but now includes all photographic medium. Each show outdid the previous. With much attention paid to detail, sensuality, artistic style, subject matter and ever changing photographic processes, every aspect of the Nude is undressed.
The “group” exhibition (over 60 LA Based photographers that shoot the nude on a regular basis) lends itself to a competitive nature and pushes each artist to submit his/her personal best. Each photographer goes beyond their boundaries to inspire and amaze their fellow colleagues and audience. You can imagine the provocative and emerging styles in study of the human body. It’s a Hollywood tradition!
As Photo Impact’s most widely attended exhibition, you can imagine the eclectic crowd that it attracts. They come to see what’s hot and thought provoking, what’s inspiring and cutting edge and, most importantly, what is arousing. In the past, attendees have ranged from students, celebrities, art connoisseurs, gallery owners, fellow photographers and even exhibitionists. Look closely . . . models mingle with the crowd. Undisclosed surprises happen at any moment. Yes, in the past, a few have bared all!
