Out of the Dark 4

Photo Impact has always prided ourselves on providing quality black & white services for the wide ranging needs of L.A.'s photographic community. A large part of the services that we provide depends on the skills and talents of Photo Impact's staff. Each employee brings their knowledge of the photographic processes to the lab which helps you achieve your desired results. This exhibition showcases those talents and each employee's individual artistry and area of interest.

In this fourth "Out of the Dark" show, Don Weinstein curates the many diverse talents of the talents he has gathered to work for him. "We range from the most traditional photographers," states Don, "shooting landscapes, fashion and documentary, to artists working with photography to express conceptual ideas."

Abstracting images from the landscape are Steve Moulton, Hugh Milstein, Jolie Margulies, Yvonne Sarceda, Noureddine El-Warari, Martin Cox and Ira Mintz. Paula Symonds, Jeff Chandler, Jay Mason, Gene Prizer, Amelia Buhrman, Robbie Lee Moreno, Jason Costanzo and Tom Dickson aim their lenses at still life, architecture and surrealism. Melissa Gofton uses text and torn images to explore sexuality. Focusing on people, fashion, and portraiture are Babak Delafraz, Scott Ashton, Dave Snow, Heidi Entermann, Glenn Markunas and Nancy Ostertag, while Coby Garfield shoots rock bands. Don Weinstein also displays a haunting image of a relative and a classic image from his "ripped and torn" poster art collection.

Along with this vast range of subject matter are many types of media and printing processes: Pinhole, Holga, 4x5, and Take 4 cameras as well as 35mm and 120 formats were used.
